no To me it sounds like you need to replace the garbage disposal
The answer is yes, and here's how: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/remove-garbage-disposal-return-original-sink-drain-72140.html
Yes, it maybe the pipes. Tho I would run ice down it, and make sure. If you don't use it, put some thing on the drain hole, so you will NOT by mistake put something down the empty hole, or if you have company, they won't do this . . accidents can always happen. Remember, we are so habits of creation, and it is just because of habits that we may by chance aim for that hole, and then when it is too late, recall that there is NOTHING there. I hope this helps you, J.
If you intend on living without one, yes , it can be removed and re--piped with DWV plastic..just make sure you disconnect the electric going to the disposer if you plan on doing this yourself. ..........Mike (Have Tools- will travel)
Yes you can! I did this 2 or 3 years ago and have been sooo happy! I went through several garbage disposals (broken by various houseguests - and they are not cheap to replace) and was tired of shelling out tons of money repeatedly. Not one problem since then and my bank account is much happier!
You don't have to install a new garbage disposal if you don't want one. You may have to install a new pipe where the disposal was. I urge you to go to a Ace Hardware Store and ask exactly what you will need. Their sales clerks are trained exceptionally well.
Yes, and it is better for the environment if you are not putting kitchen waste into the waste water, it doesn't break down like the stuff from the bathroom. You do need to change out the basket and drain in the sink so that things cannot fall thru to the drain pipe, and you will need to take care of the electrical connection so that it is safe.
