You may not be interested in this idea, but I wanted to share my nephews idea for raised garden beds as a possible alternative to using cedar. He used cement blocks to create a bed. You can fill them with dirt, and plants marigolds, and other plants inside the cement blocks to surround your vegetable garden to help protect them from pests.

Put it in a garbage bag and close it up tight to preserve the aroma, then hang it someplace. I hang mine from the rafters in the basement.
