Bamboo poles used as screen,maybe with plants growing up them..
Making a frame with the colored plastic lattice may be the easiest route to go. You can dress up the area with potted vine plants.
Why not use real bamboo? It's so pretty! I see you are in UK, so not real familiar with your climate, but there are warm weather bamboo like we have here in California. Colder climate bamboo, one anyway, is Yellow Groove Bamboo. It can grow quite tall, but there are also dwarf varieties. You can grow them quite close together for a lush look, and more privacy.
Do some googling. There are bamboo varieties for almost any climate.
Forgot to mention that mail order bamboo can often come with disease that can spread to your other plants, so find a reputable place (Google complaints on the company) . Better yet, ask your nursery about special ordering some.
