Although the best way is professional removal
Start with a roach motels, several of them, spread them around your house.
The first thing you need to do is stop their food supply. One of the biggest problems is dog food in open bags. Put such in sealed containers like a large can or bags that can be sealed. And then pickup dog dishes after use and wash away the crumbs that they feed on. Do not leave food of any kind out!
You can fight and fight these bugs, many of the home remedies only feed them more...particularly those "traps" put out. Your best solution is to call an exterminator!
go on internet and find the cockroach gel. this is the only thing that will permanently get rid of them.
I have used Combat gel and it really works!
(Cockroach food is often just cellulose... = paper, = wood. Not removable entirely!)
Any Tiny particle of dog food is plenty for an insect! Elevate the dishes, if possible, on a 'mushroom-like' table... these bugs may find the 'walk on a ceiling' challenge to be too much.
A common repellant is boric acid. Wash down nearby surfaces with borax and towel or sponge dry.. Leave a bit of detergent behind as a film coating.
I put sticky traps down. I also mixed boric acid with confectioners sugar and put in caps from water/drink bottles and put in corners of cabinets. I also mixed baking soda and confectioners sugar and put down. And then I got Combat Gel. You squeeze it from a tube. Put in corners of cabinets, drawers, around Outlets, light switches, under sinks.
Some include cockroach gel, cockroach traps, borax and other chemical based roach killers
