My shop is infested by fleas, what can I do to kill them?

I have a 40x60 enclosed heated shop where I used to work on a race car. Durning the cold,last winter I let my cats stay in there when it was cold. Now I have a flea infestation problem! What is the strongest poison I can use to kill them with? Do I need to hire a exterminator to get ride of them and will that take care of my problem?

Diatomaceous earth or Neem oil. Read instructions before using. DE is pet safe as is Neem oil. -

If you use poison you will make yourself sick and kill your cats. Call in the pros for this one, but you must treat your cats too. I have 6 outdoor / indoor cats and not one of them has fleas. Fleas will eventually lead to health problems in your cats and you will have enormous vet bills. Best to fix now before it gets worse. -

You can also use Avon Skin So Soft oil in a spray bottle then you can use Dawn dish soap to clean it up.As well you can bathe the cats in Dawn .This is not harmful to either.
