Might try breaking tooth picks in the stripped out holes and see it the screws will hold.
My husband uses toothpicks. Fill the hole and break off flush with the wall.
Toothpicks and a little liquid nails.
My husband just breaks and adds more until hole is pretty tight then tries screw to see if it will hold.
