Coffee grounds are somewhat acidic, so you have to be careful on how much you put on plants that are not acid lovers. You can sprinkle it over the whole of the garden soil, as earthworms seem to love the stuff. Look it up, I know that tomatoes like some added acid, but not too much.
Interesting concept. Yes, but only if they are not moldy. Where are you storing it? Are you drying it out?
You certainly can grounds are good for plants.
I've done coffee grounds and ground shells. Seem to have always helped mine..I've done it both ways: sprinkle on top and or mix in.
Coffee grounds are great for the garden. But, as mentioned above, they should be mixed with soil. Coffee grounds, banana peels and egg shells are all good for the garden. Sand is another element for good results. It helps with water retention.
