Make a mix of Borax soap powder and icing sugar, and put it along any spots or pathways you think the ants are using. They love the sweetness, but the borax kills them.

I use Terro ant poison. always works for me
Dianne, I have mixed half water and half vinegar in a plastic spray bottle. I spray directly on the ants I see. They hate it. Spray again where they came in. You may have to repeat a few weeks later. Good luck
