The static cling spray for fabric works for this.
Try spraying it with the stuff they have for static hair problems. I have had it in the past cure it with clothes, especially with slips.
Just add a small humidifier to the room. The air is probably too dry.
You can buy a product called "Static-Gard". DIY methods: run a dryer sheet all over the area, or a light spray of hairspray will do the trick.
You need to apply some humidity. You can buy small humidifiers if the sewing area is not near your kitchen where you heat tea for water or cook etc. If the craft room is too dry and causes static cling it can be very annoying. I would simply get a humidifier and turn it on a few minutes before I began to sew in that room. I also attach a grocery plastic bag to the front of my sewing table to simply scoot the threads or scraps of material into it, rather than reaching and lifting every one. That was a trick I learned from a friend.
Boiling an electric kettle (with automatic shut off) is an inexpensive and quick way to add humidity to a room.
I used to use electric kettle to add humidity to rooms, i used 1 for each room and all i thought wouldn't be expensive but i was surprised when the bill was delivered !!.I reduced the number of kettles and I thought that i have to find another electricity supplier because I don't want to pay that much anymore. I found usave to compare and find all the available suppliers in the area, to find the most affordable one. I changed the supplier, this is what i done a year ago.
