I have seen coffee grounds sprinkled on the soil of house plants, and they were thriving! If you compost, you can use coffee grounds and the paper filter.

Silly answer but true. If your husband buys a bushel of oysters and puts them in the trunk of the car, you can use them to absorb the smell.
Used coffee grounds are great to mix into your soil. They are so neutral and easy on plants that some people even start their plants in that.
They make great fertilizer for your plants - mix in with the soil
making new paper look old
