there is typically a cable attached either to a large coil spring, or to a large roller above the door. If one cable breaks, you will find that one side sags when you try to raise the door. If it is the drum type, it is usually best left to a professional to repair, as it is difficult and dangerous to release the tension on the drum.
Check to make sure the wheel is on the track. Make sure the track is clean then spray WD-40 on it. Stand inside and watch the spring as you close the door. It may have come loose. If so, get a professional to fix it. Best to you!
Were you able to get the roller back on track? Mine need a screw driver to thightn them up on occasion.
If the roller was off the track, were you able to reset it?
My first garage had the off the track issue...sometimes it was a roller off track or just not rolling.
