Get a spray bottle with water, and a scraper, stand on ladder and scrap it off, lay a tarp on floor to help with the mess.
We used our garden sprayer tank filled with warm water. MAKE sure the room is completely empty as it WILL be a total mess! INVEST in a roof shingle remover tool. Ours was like $15....Mask up/goggles up..spray till just moist and work in sections......
