Replace the window with one that has a heat mirror coating. Another possibility is an awning over the window.
Window film. Research it and you will see it comes in many flavors, even patterns.
Having the same issue here. I am replacing the old dual pane windows with the new, far more energy efficient ones available today. Will take me 3 - 4 years to do the entire house. Since you are only concerned with one window, the cost might be worth it. Do your homework carefully. See if these links help!

Hi R, I just found a solar shade that may work: https://www.amazon.com/Carol-Wright-Gifts-Solar-Curtains/dp/B002VRLO82
Good luck!
An easy way.....mix powdered starch with water...dip lace curtain into mixture...squeeze out and rub lace onto the window. It will dry quickly...it will not fall off....no rods or nails needed....and you can see out of the window and some sun will be blocked.....pulls off easily

There are roll down blinds available which are white, let the light in but block the suns rays and heat. They operate with a chain on the side. A lot of restaurants use this type of shade.
blinds Vertical or horizontal
There is smokey film you can buy that will block the sun and the heat. I think it sticks to the glass. Check with Homedepot or Lowe's.
Tinted film is really the best, translucent solution. It will cut heat gain and prevent fading of furnishings,,,good luck!
