you need to compost them separately in a composter, not just throw them in a garden
If you compost the peels and left overs with other organic material and make soil thereby, it helps to add it to the soil around plants. If you just throw the peels on plants you will get mildew, disease, and cause all kinds of problems for your plants. Hope this helps.
That may invite critters in to dine on them and your plants, I would start a compost pile and put them in there.
No don't throw garbage around the yard, will attract all kinds of critters epecially rats. If you want to benefit your plants, make a composting bin.... and read up on how to do it properly.... you need to put different materials in it, turn it regularly and sometimes add enzymes to hasten the decomposition...... once its decomposed, then its good for your plants.
pretty much that why I already said they need to be composted
Thank you
I throw egg shells and coffee grounds in my garden all winter long, then till the dirt before I plant my garden. I put all my other veggies, peelings, etc in my compost pile and put a few shovels of dirt over it.
Other two replies are good advice, but if you’re interested in composting into your garden directly I would recommend looking into key hole raised beds! You can do a search on YouTube for ke hole raised beds!
I had a neighbor who used to "dig in" eggshells and vegetable peels, etc. , covering it heavily with soil so it is completely buried. I think it is called trench composting. She said this was how her mother and grandmother composted in Europe where she grew up. Do a search on composting methods that won't attract pests.
