I am a super organizer! But lately I have had trouble "thinning out!" If you don't wear it, use it, or like it...throw it out.
Categorize by season, use and color (clothes). Kitchen, frequency of use near the front; pantry, beans and peas together, pasta over there, and fresh items like crackers in a bin together.
There are many ways to organize, but focus and thinning out are two major requirements!
our motto -- if you don't use it every day, put it away; every thing has a 'place' and every thing in it's place; and if you use it, put it back.
Organize? What does that mean? I'm jus sayin...
Here's my tip: If you're not an organizer by nature, it's a hard thing to maintain. It's not about a one time task of "getting it together", it's a commitment to "putting things back where they belong". You can find lots of ways to organize everything, but you need to look into the habits of organized people to stay that way (kind of like a 12 step program for the disorganized). Get rid of clutter. Put things away. Have everything in it's place and a place for everything. Don't make "nests" for frequently use items.
I have a very big tolerance for disorder, so I have to actually "turn on" my brain to notice a mess. Then it is easy to discard, put away, wash, store etc. Do that often.
If you pick something up, do not put it down until you put it away where it belongs!!
