I find that if you string up fishing line about 3‘ and 4’ High, it keeps Deer away! They don’t like anything at their chest height! It is invisible to the eye, so you can put the slender green plant “posts” about every 3 ‘ along your plants! Works for me! You can buy the slim posts at your local garden store! They are ribbed plastic!
We live in the woods in the lowcountry of SC. I have spent a small fortune trying to find anti-deer plants. The best I have used is the azalea. Deer even eat rose bushes.
Here in the Pacific Northwest deer eat azaleas. I have found that "our" deer won't eat lavender.

The golf course up at Pinetop gets hair clippings from the beauty salons and puts them in panty hose legs which they hang from the trees that border the fairways and on the hole poles. They say it works great.
