How difficult is laying a laminate flooring?

I have an old vinyl floor over cement - if the ow floor has an attached underlay do I have to remove the old tile?

If the floor is even you can install the laminate right over it.
Have a look at you Home improvement store and ask your question. There is a new vinyl tile covering. The tiles a a little thicker than the old stuff that is coming up. It is made for your purpose and looks beautiful. The tiles themselves are more durable and the new adhesives are fantastic. Least expensive way to go but not necessarily cheap. Just check it out. Many are a look of stone or wood grain and are made for wet areas such as kitchens and bath/laundry rooms. Ask them about the underlayment but it is amazing what this stuff will go right over the top of.
