Use the cord covers. There is always excess wire, use twist ties or zip ties to tie up all the extra and put a basket or box over the wire bunches that you collect into one area and that will hide that mess. It will also keep the wires from getting all knotted into a tangle of wires if the excess is wound up and tied.
I don’t have any wires showing at all, but not everyone is able to do what I did! I built my own entertainment wall and all my wires run thru my wall from my HDTV down the back side of the wall and come back thru the wall into my entertainment/fireplace/heater cabinet where my blue ray player, Dish Satellite, Surround sound is. Along with my security camera system with 16 cameras, so I have a ton of wires but you don’t see a one of them! You can possibly do this with a existing wall, if you don’t mind poking a hole in your wall and fishing wires down to another hole wherever your accessories will be at? Assuming you own your home? If not, I’ve taken the plastic wrap for auto wiring to wrap my wires and make sure you mark what wires are in where? You can keep them fairly neat this way as well if your stuck looking at wires! A person could make a false 3 sides box the height of between their TV and entetrainmen center to hide wires too! Paint same color as the wall!
I think what I may do is tie in some of the wires to the inside of a fireplace mantle, run them inside and down and out the bottom.. It's outside the fireplace box and would be safe, would allow me to run some of the hardware and wires into the adjacent front closet. Great suggestions, everyone! Thank you!
