Carpet Beetles are annoying critters that invade homes. They are looking for warmth, organic material to eat, and a place to reproduce. One thing to note is that being immersed in 120' F temperature will kill them. So if you need to wash bedding, etc., use a sterilizing setting on your washer with the hottest water possible. As for the rest of your house, vacuum whatever you can and toss whatever is in your bin or bag. To control the eggs/larvae that are left, use Diatomaceous Earth - available at many home centers. It comes in a canister and looks like white dust. Spread it everywhere you've seen the beetles. It works by chafing the outer 'skin' of the insect and causing it to dry up - so give it a chance to do it's thing and don't vacuum for a day or two. It will not harm people or pets. If you have a bad infestation, you may have to repeat the process. Good luck!
