Tighten the screws
REMOVE THE SCREWS AND PUT IN A COUPLE OF DROPS OF GORILLA GLUR IN THE HOLE. rEASSEMBLE.
When the screws are loose, trying to just re-tighten might work, but it would be just as easy to remove the screw and pack the hole with a small sliver of wood (a toothpick is always my favorite). Push or hammer the wood as far into the hole as possible and cut it flush to the finish level. Re-install the screw and tighten.
Wet toothpicks .......remove screws.....place half a toothpick into hole .......continue to rescrew screws
Try Removeing the entire latch, clean it up, and replace the screws with steel wool, to make the screws tight.
Daniel and Ebbjdl suggestion s are the best. Remove the hinge, clean it up, use WD40 or anything else to lubricate it. A drop of super glue in the screw holes. You may need to adjust the hinge in and out, up and down, for the door to be level and close properly.
Yes, Daniel, Ebdjdl & William have provided good suggestions.
