Semi- gloss for bath or kitchen ceilings, other ceilings should be flat.
Flat. All day long. Semi-gloss will show his mistakes. I'm surprised that he isn't pushing for the flat paint. You are the one paying the bill, right? He should warn you when he disagrees with a choice and then do what you are paying him to do.
Hi Susan, I used flat throughout my home and, honestly, I wish I had gone with an egg shell or a semi gloss. Flat gets dirty and is impossible to clean. But you need to do what you WANT to do, its your home!
Hello Susan. You are absolutely correct. A low gloss or matte finish paint is best for ceilings. The reason is that it shows far less flaws because of the way light reflects off the paint. Click on the link below to read more information about it. Good luck!

You should be using special "Ceiling paint" which tends to be flat. You do not want it to glare when lights are on.
Flat every time for me............ semi-gloss will show up any defects..........
Flat... unless you like reflections! : )
