Try using saddle soap. It's made for real leather so it should be gentle enough for the fake stuff.

If it is more like leather or vinyl than a fabric, use a good leather or vinyl cleaner and conditioner. Do not use armor all, it is really hard on leather and vinyl and dries it out really bad.
I would use Dollar Tree Awesome Orange and a big sponge, wear gloves.

Honestly, I have used dawn and a little essential oil in water to clean ours. Works fine!!
