We had this problem in our 1 acre yard. For the garden we planned a 50 by 100 ft vegetable garden. We hauled a ton of sand and bought several bales of straw, gathered leaves, and tilled it all together over and over for several days running. Then we let it set all winter. In the spring we tilled it and added Miracle grow. Our vegetables did well every year after. Our raspberry bed took off so fast we could hardly keep up with the berries.
We had that problem...added all kinds of compost, leaf and grass clippings...problem solved.
sand and peat moss and compost if you have it till it in several days or even a couple + weeks i would remove some of the clay and get rid of it ..
