Cats love so many different kinds of toys. The ones my cats love the best are those out of toilet paper rolls. I just trim about 1 1/2" up each end so the roll can flatten out - they throw them and chase them all over the house. I found this idea on DIY cat toys on the internet - there are millions!!!
scrunch up some paper and throw it.
We have 5 cats... and buy all kinds of cat toys... balls, mice, feathery ones, catnip ones...and what do they play with?.... rubber bands, twist ties, pens, pencils, and the little plastic ring off of the gallon milk cap
My cats love balled up paper and other things i don't want them to have. Anything on elastic they also love.
I had a cat once that her favorite toy was the cellophane off the pack of smokes! They will turn anything into a toy, even balled up aluminum foil, anything that can easily skid around on the floor. They also love the little laser pointers and chase the little ball of light all over the place and even up walls. A lot of dogs love to chase that too.
Mine steals my hair ties if I don't put them where she can get them. Also rubber bands(don't recommend) and my shoe strings. Anything small and lite weight that will slide or they can toss. Not all cats are affected by cat nip but if yours is put a small amount inside any little toy you make. Keep fresh by dropping into a bag of catnip. I've also had one that like to shred paper towels or even mail. Watched one of mine tossing up a piece of newspaper so he could hide under it.
Bendable straws, they love them
