Mixing trim question

I have a lot of oak; cabinets, doors, trim, and floors. If I were to restain or paint my cabinets, should I also do the same to all the trim? I will not be in this house for long, but the cabinets need some TLC.

Painted cabinets will give a nice contrast to the oak trim.

I am a firm and staunch believer of decor is personal and should be just that!!!

with that said, you can look at it different ways. Leaving the trim alone, it will serve as a frame so to speak. Paint first what you know you won’t change. Live with it for a bit. And if you decide you want no “frame”, paint out your trim too. You can paint it a few shades darker or lighter. Or jump off the ledge and paint it gloss black!

Remember, it’s your home, your space and you do what YOU want to that space. It is ok to change it too! And it does not matter if your there long or short term, it’s still your home! Be empowered by just that fact!

P.S. I saw a pic with the black trim, and did it and absolutely LOVED it!

Here I thought I’d share a pic so you could get an idea of mixing trim.
