Train them, plain and simple. I have 6 dogs in my yard, it took a bit of work over time, but well worth the effort. Everyone in the household has to be on the same page and use the same technique. Dogs just want unconditional love and to please you so be patient, loving and consistent. Here are some great tips! If you need more, just Google!

we have a 25 foot lead attached to our back deck. I attached the end of the lead to one of the wooden posts ( or anywhere u can attach it very close to your door) I hook her up inside, open the door and she c ant get beyond our yard to the neighbors. the leads come in shorter lengths too but I found the great especially if you live where it gets super cold in the winter. poochie can run out and do her business, I stay warm and she comes back to the door when she's done. of course I have to go out and shovel up poo piles every few days but it's worth it to me.
Invisible fence will provide boundaries.
