The Budget Backsplash Project
The cheapest and easiest backsplash we found were thin metal sheets that look like tiles but are all one piece you can cut to fit in your kitchen from the local home improvement store. They come in the look of copper, aluminum, or brass. They are super easy to install and can be cut to fit your kitchen. Another bonus, easy to wash down each week too! No build up when they are so easy to wash! Our budget was tight, but this fit our budget. If I can install them, anyone can! Hope this helps.
How about linoleum peel and stick floor tiles? I have seen them as cheap as $7 a box of 12"x12" and 20 count on Walmart.com
