I have a small room that I still had to keep a bed in so my daughter had somewhere to sleep when coming home.
I also wanted it for an creative room and needed to store alot of craft equipment. I purchased the algot shelving from ikea. My husband built it up at the base of the bed, above the bed and beside the bed. They sell shelving with hanging rails, pullout baskets, boxes, everything you need for equipping a small bedroom.
If you don't like this idea. Look to how your room is set out. Does it have an alcove. If it does then can you fit a wardrobe in there or fix a rail for clothing, or shelves. This can be covered with a curtain.
