I love them and I’m in the process of install. I’m not to the single square tiles yet I’m wirking on a large square medillon. Believe it or not im using a nail gun and 2” headless nails. They’re grabbing just enough to hold it up. i plan on using tough as nails to re attach the plastic (looks like wood) Moulding. Im gluing it right to the ceiling. oh, and my nail gun is one of the smaller ones, it’s not leaving dents from pressing on it, I think a heavier duty one would leave indentations.
What kind of tiles? The new ones that look like tin ceilings have a certain charm, as does bead board ... especially the real stuff. If you mean the fiber perforated ones like in offices, id say don't use them in your home.
