I don’t want hunk that is going to work.
why would you want to UNTRAIN a 9 year old dog? Is he starting to have accidents? Is there any way you can put in a dog door to a little fenced in area so he doens't have to hold it.OR go in teh house? I mean a 70 lb dog make a LOT of poop...and puppy pads are not meant to hold that much urine.
Here are a couple article that might help - http://www.labradoodle-breeder.com/labradoodle_training.html & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd59SkOyjlg
This may be difficult if your dog is a male.
awww..poor guy...but I still think a puppy pad for a large dog is a crappy idea pardon the pun :)
How about a dog walker taking him out once a day? A senior? A school kid? Maybe you can trade off with another pet owner?
you're very kind to think so much about your dog. I suppose you can teach him to go on puppy pads but maybe if you can make a tray type area and put the pads in that it would be more doable.
If you use the puppy training pads, start putting them outside and let him go on them there...get him used to it...wet them with his urine and start bringing closer to the door until finally inside to the area you want. It's not going to be easy...but can be done with lots of praise. Good luck !
