Hi there! My raised beds are made of cinderblocks and were super easy to put together.
Step one: Hire a strong person to do the job. ;-)
Step two: Buy enough cinderblocks to create a rectangle two tiers deep. Step three: Help the strong person by showing them where to lay out the cinderblocks.
Step four: Drink some lemonade while they lay out the blocks. JUST KIDDING! Lay out the cinderblocks, then add the second tier of them, offsetting them like you would bricks--or even Legos--for stability. No need to fill the openings in the blocks with anything or even add mortar..
Step five: Lay down some weed cloth to cover the entire bottom of the raised bed. Then put some aviary wire on top of it to keep critters from chewing their way in from underneath.
Step six: Fill the bed with your favorite soil and necessary amendments, compost, etc.
Step seven: Add your favorite plants.
Step eight: Stand back and admire your work!

Search You Tube for ideas. The terrain also determines method. Nicki's method looks good. Wood is another option, but I have heard that pressure treat is not recommended. I have to install a couple of planters on a sloping lot. You can come to my house and get free lessons. :-)
Cinder block will work.... but if you need to move the garden it can be a pain in the A**...er... back. We have found that using the galvanized horse/stock tanks or troughs is just as easy.... and if you have to move stuff in the future... just dump the dirt out onto a tarp... and 2 people can pick it up and move it
