I keep seeds in mine I will purchase seeds throughout the year, and store them in these containers. Many times as a plant puts on seeds I collect seeds and dedicate one to a specific plant and leave it set up a kitchen shelf to thoroughly dry the seeds, then once dry drop in one of the silicone moisture packs seal up the top and most importantly LABEL THE CONTAINER, species of plant, color, height, spacing, and year of harvest.
Sell them on Ebay, you should see the stuff they sell on EBay, for people do craft.
I use mine to pour used oil/grease into for disposal. Once it's 3/4's full, I wrap up the container in 2 plastic shopping bags to ensure it doesn't break open on the garbage pick up guys when they dump our trash into their truck. The same goes for fruit and vegetable cutaways if our kitchen trash isn't full, I don't want to have the odors lingering from an semi-open kitchen trash container.
