You cut them out around the pictures and write on the back, using them as gift tags. My kids made Christmas tree ornaments out of them.
my cousin removes the front graphic and uses it to label next years Christmas presents. some cards will fit in a small picture frame, frame and display at the holiday dinner.
Ditto for me, I cut them off and they make beautiful gift tags for the following year.
I save beautiful cards, then cut the fronts off and use card stock paper and a glue stick to re-use them. You just make a lip to glue to the front and when applicable, I cut around the design on the front.
You can amp up the gift tag/card idea by cutting construction paper the same size, I use the fancy design scissors. Use a hole punch to go through the upper left of both pieces and use pretty ribbon to make the ties to secure to a gift. This allows you to write on the inside and it looks like a card.
Put the cards under the glass of a table. Cut the pictures into a wreath shape, and hang it on your wall, or front door. Cut the figures out and paste it to one another. This is something you can also do. Cut the cover of the card off, as long as there is no writing on the back, and you can send them to St. Jude's Research Hospital for kids with cancer. They recycle them and make cards from them, and sell in the thrift shop. This money goes to the hospital. Google them for their address.
Get an old frame and put them in as a collage. You could hang it up every holiday and it would be a reminder of friends and family.
use them for embellishing special pictures
Here is an article that might help - https://www.home-storage-solutions-101.com/used-christmas-cards.html
All cards will eventually have antique value. I have stored mine for almost 50 years. I keep them in those plastic shoe box things in a store room in my basement. Paper things are very saleable at auctions. I have seen old diaries sell for a lot of money. Go to an estate sale sometime and see.
Glue them onto a large piece of paper and laminate it to make Christmas placemats. They are washable!
Donate the picture part of the cards to an elementary school. They can't use religious cards though.
I took the pictures and put family pictures of each person I took at Christmas and put in a big frame so the Christmas card pictures were backdrops for each person 🙃
I cut out the fronts of many cards and use them for name tags for gifts. Santa and Snowmen are always cute.
