They make LED edison bulbs now..... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_3_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=led+edison+bulbs+60+watt+equivalent&sprefix=LED+Edison+bulbs%2Caps%2C246&crid=30ETDT80AAHZZ
Love the Edison bulbs. I find them great for pendant lights and table lamps. I use 15W 800 lumen soft white LED bulbs in my ceiling fan. They are equivalent to 60W regular bulbs.
That's a tough one these days. The other day I saw some (relatively) decorative led bulbs at Lowe's. They won't look as authentic as the Addisons but they would probably fit the look better than the spiral florescents.
Very nice. I would use the new old fashioned Edison bulbs
Hi Sharyn ! I live in an old restored house. My ceiling fan has 5 globes and I use 40 watt bulbs that give off a great white light and the kitchen is really lit up for food prep etc.Happy decorating!
We use LED bulbs that only use 6.5 watts each and they put off more light then the CFL's they replaced.
GE's BriteStik LED bulbs give off great light. They're cylindrical and won't have the old-timey feeling of the Edison bulbs, but they're very simple, come in both yellowish and bright white, and in different wattage equivalents.
Wha about elongated LED bulbs ???
Did you try Edison led bulbs? They do come in different shades and should be brighter than the old style bulbs
Remove the whole light section and put up a fan light that has one globe or shade rather than individual lights.
I saw LED Edison style light bulbs at Walmart just this week (if you want to keep these cage style coverings...)
