Urine stained mattresses

I work for a hotel and we have several mattresses that are urine stained. I am looking for a product to remove the stain, the issue is the time for drying. Unfortunately we do not have the luxury of having hours of drying time. Can anyone recommend a product that removes stains without shampooing the mattress and will not make the stain wick. Any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

I would use peroxide. Spray it on the stains, let sit as long as possible. If you have to, use a hair blow dryer on cool setting to finish drying the mattress. Hope this works for you. It's amazing to see it work on several stains.

I recommend that you make a solution of: one quarter cup of hydrogen peroxide, a half cup of Baking Soda and one teaspoon of dish soap. Blot this solution on the stain. Don't rub it in. When it is dry, vacuum it. If the stain is really big, you may have to repeat. Good luck with this. I hope it helps you.

Wow, mind telling me which hotel you work for? You might want to suggest they put those light rubber zippered matress covers on them. That way you will always have clean mattresses.

    • I was thinking the same thing. And less chance of bed bugs too. Yikes! A hotel (whose job is in the service industry), ought to know how to do this without our help. If they are that cheap, I can only imagine what the rest of the place is like. How many other corners are they cutting? The management at this establishment is sub par at best and ought to have more continuing education on hotel management. If I was an employee, I would turn them in to the health department. There are "industry standards" and this place obviously hasn't a clue.

white vinegar is a marvellous stain remover.I'd suggest spray on a little at a time.

Give it a good rub with a soft cloth or sponge. That won't take long to dry and you could have several try's with it. Also bicarbonate of soda gets smells out and can be brushed off. Left overnight for good results...
