Asphalt is less expensive but properly mixed and installed concrete will last longer.
Asphalt is definitely the least expensive. We had our driveway installed last year. It's a six-car driveway. Cost was $2400.
Concrete is better than asphalt but asphalt is cheaper. I have added extra parking space off the side of concrete driveways with asphalt. You still need to dig the area out, lay down gravel, pack it down, and put down the asphalt and pack it down also.
wow there are pros and con for each. Concerte is expensive and can crack in cold weather. Asphalt has to be patched after a year or two but is cheaper. It’s according to you budget and long term care interest.
Asphalt will track black "tar" into your vinyl or carpet or hardwood and you will be moping every day plus as someone else said, has to be redone every couple of years, so cost more in the long run.
If you just want to add another area, have you considered pavers? There are so many different colors and styles available.
Asphalt less expensive can be patched easier. Can put a coating on it to protect. Asphalt heats up with the sun, so it will melt snow easier.
