Well all the mid-century kitchens I've had were either checkerboard floor, and gingham curtains, chrome dining sets.... the other popular fabric back then was cherries or bark cloth in Atomic patterns
My current one is cobalt blue window trim with blue gingham curtains and table clothe and accessories. I have assorted plates hung on the wall in either cobalt blue glass, Japanese Imari ware, and a collection of flower and leaf mini plates. The floor in this one is rusty slate to match my cherry cabinets. I have a few red small appliances for a pop of color.
