You could keep jewelry, hair bands, any number of things that you can use them for simple storage and put in a drawer or cupboard.
I store my pretty painted Easter eggs from year to year.
Start seeds in them, use during crafts or repair projects to hold small objects so they don't get lost or to put things like small amount of paint in.
