How to change a love seat into a dining bench?

However, most love seats are too low for a dining table. How do I add height to the love seat. I wou love to see pictures of similar projects, or a website where I can purchase a dining bench that has a high weight capacity. Most are only 200-250 lbs maximum

Make your own table with heavy duty Garden Fence posts and maybe Pallets using Metal Brackets. Screw Blocks to your Loveseat legs.

You asked about raising the height of a love seat. Then you asked about purchasing a dining bench with a weight capacity well in excess of 250 pounds.

Fairly simple to make a platform that will raise the love seat to whatever height you want. Design depends on the legs of the loveseat because you will want to attach firmly so that the legs won't slip off of the platform.

There are lots and lots of plans at the end of a Google search to build a sturdy bench like this one:

You could substitute 2x lumber for the 1x lumber if you need much over 250 pounds, which will hold until you reach crush strength of the lumber.

There are also lots and lots of sturdy farmhouse benches for sale, found with a simple Google search.

Hi Sandy, I am so loving your idea! I'd take the legs off and build a platform for the whole love seat to sit on to give it the exact height needed. You can also take the back off, and just add beautiful pillows. Would love to see it when you're done (or if you do it) Good Luck! I've enclosed a pic to give you a visual of what I meant by platform.

You should be able to screw pieces of 2 x 4's onto the legs.
