You could use containers. Going vertical will save you space, you can make a vertical herb garden with a pallet also, here are some ideas:

in a half barrel - plant a central miniature bay leaf tree surrounded by thyme oregano etc. Window boxes..curly parsley tolerates some shade. elevate and support linear shaped shallowish planters to a height...some varieties don't need much soil...drainage, sunshine water and TLC.. Good Luck
