Hello. I usually plant a grass or spike in the center of the barrel. Then I get a few runners that would trail down the sides of the planters like potato vine, or Vinca. Then fill in with petunias, Millon Bells, impatiens, Begonias, or any annual that works for your area. Happy planting!
Depending on what you like, bloomers or greens. Ground cover plants like creeping Jenny, creeping Juniper will grow and flow I’ve the sides and that looks real nice. If you want color there are many annuals you can choose from. Go to your nearest Home Depot they have knowledgeable people who can help you pick out just what you want to have a beautiful arrangement.
