Ensure it is stable, and paint it with porch paint, or a nice semi transparent stain
Do you want to make it bigger? Do you just want to replace the stairs? Tons of ideas if you are willing to put some effort and money into this.
I don't need it bigger, just better. I'm willing to put time and money into it. More time than money since I rent my home but still, I want it to look nice. Even if I don't own the home.
Since you rent maybe rent a power washer clean the boards and stain it, and as Style-Sack mentioned clean up under the porch. That should look better which should make you feel better.
Power wash the wood, pound down the nails on any loose or squeaky boards and then stain. I would then put down landscape cloth and rock to keep the weeds from growing up and around the deck. It's cheap and will make it look nice. :) Good Luck!!
It looks like some of the boards are warped. Just unscrew those boards and turn them over. Screw them back in to place. Then power wash and paint or stain. Best of luck to you.
Post a picture when you are finished!! Good luck!
