Fence them out by setting a chicken wire fence 12" below ground level and backfilling.
A radio. It does not matter what station you have it set to, as long as it is . playing 24/7. The noise will be enough to keep deer and hogs away, as well as other critters that like to eat your garden. We had one in ours and we were NEVER bothered anymore by deer, etc. Up to that point, we were planting a garden for THEM to eat, not us!
