There is a butterfly bush that will attract butterflies. Hummingbirds like the trumpet type flowering bushes, especially in red. I hang hummingbird feeders from a shepherds hook near my kitchen window so I can see them easily.
on the net better homes and gardens have plans for gardens...both butterfly and hummer gardens ...and a few more. You can get a humming bird feeder...and a nectuer mix and make it red...it’s a sweet mix and the ants love it as well. Have a plan for the ants at the bottom of the pole.
You can also plant Jasmine or honeysuckle. I have both. My outdoor area smells lovely, and tons of butterflies and hummingbirds.
The best thing to attract either one of them is "food". Hummingbirds are greedy , bold little buggers (and SO much fun to have around). If you put out feeders , they will come... then when the feeder is empty or dirty they will 'buzz' you or peek in your window to tell you all about it! LOL We love them. Plant butterfly trees or plants to attract the butterflies.

TRY PLANTING A SHRUB CALLED 'BUTTERLY BUSH'.
Also a shallow tray with a few small rocks just above the waterline, and keep filled with fresh water.
Plants that bloom red, and yellow.
