A great resource that I have used and highly recommend .....is your local Cooperative extension. These offices are manned by a wonderful team of master gardeners that know your local situation quite well. There's also email ( submit a photo) Q&A resources that have helped my concerns and questions many times. Consider googling up your local extensions office.

Go to your local nursery and see what they are selling. Then ask the sales help for ideas. Also, take a walk around your town and shoot photos of gardens you love and use those as your inspiration..
I like what Fiddledd224 said. Find local homes that have planted in their berms and take pictures. I do that whenever I see a propery that just hits me, even if I don’t have an immediate need.
