You could get a double size bunk bed with a trundle. That's sleeping for 6, I know, I have the same problem. I live at the beach and we stack them and rack them.
Well, I was going to suggest blow up mattresses until I read your last sentence. Pull out couches have come along way and there are some decent quality ones out there.
Murphy Bed - single or double - can go inside a fitted wardrobe or on side like a dresser............Or Folding Z Bed - inside a small cabinet or without cabinet.........
Hi Joanne, Here's a link with lots of ideas! https://www.google.com/search?q=double+bunk+beds&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS781US781&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjKkuOd8ajaAhUNoVMKHZGGD5IQsAQIRg&biw=1600&bih=794#imgrc=_
Good luck!
Are there any other rooms that could be pressed into service? How many bedrooms in all? Any doubling up there? Could you have two twins and two trundles? We have what is really the end of our upstairs hall, but at one time someone had put a door and wall at end of it. We have used it as computer space but also as sleeping space for grand kids. The best thing we did was fix up our attic as add'l sleeping space. It is unheated and uncooled except for fans and heavy blankets but it works just fine.
A hotel room.
What about an inflatable bed? They self-inflate now (after you plug it in!) in about 5 minutes and deflate just as fast. Instant bedding you can put back into the closet when company leaves!
