Iris are easy, low maintenance, and there are varieties that blom at different times in the summer, and also re-bloomers. Google iris vendors.
I have a mixture of annuals and perennials. Annuals will give you a pop of constant color throughout the summer.
Hi SF,
I'd need to know what growing zone you're in to best help you with which flowers are the best. I love Perennials, but also like to throw a couple of annuals in there to spice up an already established garden. If you need help finding what planting zone you live in I'd be happy too to help! Also you need to remember before planting anything, pick the ones that would work best in regards to the amount of sun/shade they would get.
The front of my house faces east. I have perennials--peonies, tiger lilies, stella d' ora lilies, day lilies and I fill in with annuals. I have flowers all summer as these plants all flower at different times. You might also consider hostas and hydrangras.
Ask your nursery for Pentas, come in various shades of pink, Red and white. The perfect perennial !
Tulips, Iris and Poppies for spring. Also blue salvia is an eye catcher. Here is a photo of my front yard.
I love herbs but also do some research for native perennials, they will be easier to care for.
Yes thank you so much
