The wood was probably unfinished and you will not be able to remove the stain that has soaked far into the wood. Shows the history of this piece of furniture and many people would consider this to be much more valuable than a new drawer.
Try alcohol, it should take care of it. If there is a lot you may have to repeat until you get off the layers
Try scrubbing with Nail brush/Toothbrush and Cleaner
I imagine it's down in the grain of the wood. There may be some cleaners that take part out. However, your best bet would be to cover it with contact paper or something else. The ink should not bleed through. If you use fabric, you would need a base that would stop bleed through.
I am sure that the ink has penetrated into the wood and the only way to remove it would be to sand it. That would be tedious and would change the character of an antique piece. Other than cleaning it with a damp cloth to remove any dust I would leave it as is.
I agree, use a contact paper to cover it
Among his other talents and interests my husband is a printer and we have lots of drawers full of type. I just asked him this question and he said no, that the wood would absorb the ink, but that the drawers could be painted with bin. We once had a press and I must say that was a beautiful thing!
