Once the flower fades, see if that stem dies back, if it does, cut it close to the leaves. If part or all stays green and healthy, leave it until part or whole dies back in the future. It is possible to get flowers off the old stem if it stays alive. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't and will grow another flower stem. I hope this helps! I have had them sprout flowers or even grow a new stem off the old for flowers.
