Cabinet door trash panel

I have a cabinet door below my bathroom sink. I would like to cut a hole in the door of approximately 8" wide x 4" tall. Then I would like to insert a swing panel of some kind so a small garbage pail can be placed inside the cabinet.

The attached photo not exactly what I want, but will give an idea. With it, the opening does not have to be finished... I would want a chrome color (if possible) and I'd like the door to swing like a trash can would (at least swing in...(the attached pops in and out and can not remain in place for this use).

Any thoughts?

If you don't have to have a panel cut into the door, have you considered something like these? We use one under our kitchen sink and it doesn't take up any of the cabinet space. We have another wooden standing one that a former boss made for me, my husband uses that one in his bathroom. Since I posted this, I ordered an over the door one for our hall bathroom - thanks!

I don’t know how much stuff you put in your bathroom trash, but here it’s mostly small. Why don’t you just cut and assemble a small “laundry shute“? If it’s small enough you needn’t even cover it. Or attach a flat piece of stainless, or aluminum, on a piano hinge to the inside of the cabinet.

This may sound odd, but perhaps a 'doggie door' could be utilized in this situation. They make all sorts of them these days (sizes, colors, etc.). I like your idea!

I'm making over $12k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do... http://www.Jobzon3.com

I'm just curious, do you have a cat? I'm getting a covered trash can because of my little darling! Would be a great idea for toddlers too. I think a pet door would be a great idea.

I do have a cat, but this is not for any purpose related to that. The pet door I see is too big, but I found an option... Home Depot small plastic access panel.
